I am 8 Bit!

September 7th, 2008

Yesterday, I took a little drive up to Los Angeles to kick it with Joanna and visit a few art galleries. The first gallery we went to was the I Am 8-Bit gallery, which was pretty much anything and anything 8-bit related, a.k.a. old school video games. Mario Bros., Mega Man, Zelda, Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, Donkey Kong, Duck Hunt and all the rest of the classics in whatever art form the artists decided to work with. Since it was the last day of the gallery, most of the stuff was sold out (at least all of the stuff I’d actually buy,) but Joanna did managed to leave with a Soda Popinski print. Anyways, here’s the images from the first gallery, the second will go up later on today, enjoy!

Tjin Edition Tour Car Videos

September 5th, 2008

Here are a few short clips of the two tour cars that we filmed while we were in Chicago two weeks ago; nothing special, just a quick drive around of both cars and then a walk around.

Here’s the latest Tjin Edition Tour press release that was sent out yesterday, click for the high resolution version:

The time has finally come, about twelve years too late, but it’s here… Dantana has decided to part ways with that car that almost made him famous. His authentic Subaru GC8 is up on Ebay right, here are some pics that I took a while back for the HCI Magazine cover… now so go check it out.

San Francisco, I Love You.

September 1st, 2008

So I just got home from my three day weekend up in San Francisco and as usual, I wasn’t too excited about leaving. Anyways, I didn’t take my camera because I just wanted a weekend for myself to do absolutely nothing but hang out with my friends up there and that’s pretty much all that went down.

After spending the weekend up there, I’m realizing more and more that I want to/should look into moving up there already… we’ll see what happens.

Christmas in August!

August 29th, 2008

Merry Christmas, thank you Honda… see you at SEMA.

Why, Hello There…

August 28th, 2008

This might be a little random and I really don’t expect anyone to take part in this but whatever. Since I take the time and actually make a decent effort to make this blog somewhat entertaining/presentable, I’d really like to hear from whoever actually visits. It’s always cool when I run into people and they tell me that they actually read my nonsense so yeah, umm thanks.

With that said, feel free to contact me at gene@genetjin.com and let me know how bad I suck, enjoy.

… and since I hate making posts without including pictures, here are two shots that I’ve taken at work (with very limited resources for locations) with a little help from my co-worker, Corey Longstreth:

Banzai Magazine and More!

August 28th, 2008

I just got the September 2008 issue of Banzai Magazine and inside is a full feature I shot on the Tjin Edition / Ice Car Care Nissan Skyline ER34. The issue should hit stands here in the US in a few weeks so be sure to check it out.

Other than that, some shots from that shoot are also in the 50th Anniversary issue of Autoweek Magazine as well as Luxury Auto Direct Magazine featuring a little write up on the Tjin Edition / Ice Car Care Nissan Skyline ER34, the Tjin Edition / Turtle Wax Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Andy Goodman’s Mitsubishi FTO.

This is something I had initially planned on posting later on in the year but oh well. Before the first trip of the year, I decided to keep all of my boarding passes for flights that we’d take during the course of the year, between the Tjin Edition Tour stops, trips to shoot cars, weddings, random last minute getaways and who knows what other reasons and here they are… well some of them. Miami, Chicago, Philadelphia,
Phoenix, Denver, Harrisburg, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York City, Cleveland, Detroit, Edison, York, San Francisco, Charlotte and who knows where else, no wonder why I’m always tired.

I have another, way overdue trip to San Francisco this coming weekend and then a trip to Montreal and some other stuff to finish off the year and then that’s that. I need a damn break. Anyways, here you go, I’ll do another one of these at the end of the year with every single boarding pass for 2009, enjoy.
